Pilot Training

Whether you're young and your goal is to start a career, or you've had a career or 2 and want to start a new career and become an airline or professional pilot, or you just want to fulfill your childhood dream of becoming an aviator, the private pilot’s certificate is the first step.

Earning your private pilot license could be one of your life’s most rewarding achievements!

My mission is to help you to turn your goals into reality in a fun, safe and enjoyable atmosphere.

We have several aircraft with state-of-the-art avionics, autopilot, and ADS-B in and out for the added situational awareness and safety.

I train pilots under the FAA 14 CFR Part 61 program which allows you the flexibility to learn at a pace that fits your schedule.

Certificates and Ratings

Private Pilot License Requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years old to solo. (But you can start before 16)

  • Be at least 17 years old to earn a Private Pilot Certificate

  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Obtain at least a 3rd Class Medical Certificate.

  • Receive and log ground training from an authorized instructor.

  • 40 hours of flight time that includes at least 20 hours of flight training.

  • Accumulate and log 10 hours of solo flight time.

  • Pass an FAA Written Knowledge Test.

  • Pass a Practical Test with an FAA examiner where your aeronautical knowledge and flying skills will be tested

Earning your instrument rating will take your piloting skills to an entirely new level.

Adding an instrument rating to your pilot certificate will permit you to fly into weather that would otherwise keep you grounded. You will learn how to fly by instruments only, as well as learn instrument approach procedures and departures. You will also develop a deeper level of understanding on weather and Air Traffic Control communications, aircraft control, and aeronautical decision making.

An instrument rating is recommended to all pilots willing to take their knowledge and skills to the next level as you will develop into a much safer and more capable pilot.

It is also a requirement for anyone wishing to pursue a career in aviation.

Some portion of the training is conducted in a simulator to enhance and expedited training.

Instrument Rating Requirements:

  • Hold at least a current private pilot certificate.

  • Log 50 hours of cross-country flight time as pilot in command.

  • Log 40 hours of simulated IMC flight time.

  • Log 15 hours of instrument flight instruction from an authorized instructor.

  • Pass an FAA Written Knowledge Test.

  • Pass a Practical Test with an FAA examiner where your aeronautical knowledge and flying skills will be tested.

Earn your Commercial Pilot Certificate and get PAID TO FLY!

A career in aviation starts when you earn your commercial pilot certificate.  A commercial pilot certification allows you to work for hire and is a qualification necessary for jobs like corporate pilot, certified flight instructor, agricultural pilot, aerial photographer, and cargo pilot.

The commercial pilot certificate is a stepping stone to the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license.  Working one of these jobs is the best way to earn the hours required for the ATP license and subsequently qualify you for a job as an airline pilot.

Commercial Pilot Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Hold at least a private pilot certificate.

  • 250 hours of total flight time.

  • 100 hours of pilot-in-command flight time.

  • 50 hours of cross-country flight time.

  • Pass an FAA Written Knowledge Test.

  • Pass a Practical Test with an FAA examiner where your aeronautical knowledge and flying skills will be tested.
